Virginia M. Gillette

Associate Attorney

Attorney Virginia Gillette started at Santos & LaLima in 2019, working as a law clerk during her final two years of law school, including serving as a certified legal intern for Connecticut Federal Defender’s Office. After a brief time working at a habeas corpus firm, she returned to Santos & LaLima in 2022. Attorney Gillette has handled cases ranging from misdemeanor offenses, DWI, larcenies, and domestic violence, to serious felony matters including assault, sexual assault, and murder cases.

In addition to criminal defense, Attorney Gillette has worked on habeas corpus matters, civil cases, juvenile matters, and appeals. She has experience negotiating plea deals, achieving dismissals and nolles, trials, and arguing before the Appellate Court of Connecticut. She is active in local bar associations, including serving as a member of the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Committee and Co-Chair of the Criminal Justice Committee for the association’s Young Lawyers Section.
